Who am I?

My name is Tom Thoen. I am an Electrical Engineer, maker, educator, and have a strong interest in the emerging technology from the 60’s and 70’s.

What is the purpose of this website?

As a retired educator (Cal Poly Pomona, Pasadena city College) I am often asked by my students if I can create a repository where my class content would be available to them in the future. A lot of this content has been developed over the past 20 years and lived formerly on Blackboard and Canvas. One goal is to put as much content as I can so anyone can access it.

What else?

I want to also include some information on the projects I have worked on - both purely electronic and artistic-electronic. I love the intersection of Electronics and Art, particularly with display technology and vintage electronics.
